If predetermination doesn't exist...... explain Judas to me.?

People crack on about how they are in control of their lives and that everything they do is unique. Even the church believes that predetermination is fictional, and that we make our own way in life. But look at Judas. Didn't he HAVE to betray Christ in order that we may be saved. Wasn't his (or one of the disciples) action predetermined. The betrayal was predetermined and someone had to do it (and presumably go to hell).... so what do you think?
