Should I drop him or keep on going?

SO I have been seeing this kid for about 3 weeks now. I was introduced to him by my friend. My friend said he moves really slow in relationships ( as do I ) so I thought, great! Well he held my hand and we snuggled within the first 24 hours together haha. The next 3 days we were at my friends house visiting. He is related to my friend, and was coming back from a long weekend. I gave him a ride back to his apt because we live in the same town. He got my number the next day and texted me. I thought well, hes interested. We continued to text and one time he came over and spent the afternoon with me. I even traveled to see him compete in his athletic events. Onw event was in my home town. So I went home, and watched him. He really wanted me to travel back to my apt that night, so I did. That night we goofed off around town and came back to watch a movie. After the movie we were cuddling and I thought he was going in for a kiss ( which also surprised me if hes a " slow mover ") so when I went in hes like sorry, not yet, not yet. I was TOTALLY okay with that! In fact I thought it was very sweet of him. Well we kept talking, and he kept saying ," man iv never been in position to kiss someone so much." we would just laugh. Well all the sudden he got up ( I thought to reposition himself on the bean bag thing ) and he was on top of me kissing me. Well I kissed him back and we started making out. We are both religious and I was kinda shocked that he would get right on top of me. AND he didnt want to kiss me... so what happened? Well he was at my apt. until 5 am. The next day i was waiting for him to text me or something. Fear kinda set in. Does he not like me? Was I being used? So after 8pm i just sent him a text asking how he was. He kept saying he was tired and busy I was like okay. We had previously set up a date for monday. On that day we went up into the mountains exploring. Everytime we meet up its SUPER awkward. Like I have no idea what to do. I talked to him about the night when he was uber busy and I found out he was playing games with the neighbors...Well we start our hike in, and he kinda got into a mode where hes in his own little world. I threw a snowball at him trying to flirt things up a bit, and he didnt really do anyting besides saying, did you do that? When we got to the end point we sat down and he kissed me, and all that jazz... but idk.. it was awkward. Well when we came back into town we went to my apt and had lunch and hot coco. Then we started watching youtube videos. Where you guessed it. He kissed me again, and again. Im totally fine with kissing, but I think making out hard core when your early in a relationship doesnt build a healthy relationship. I kept trying to cut the kisses short, and I think he could tell. Well I decided that Im not going to go out of my way to try and communicate with him anymore. I feel like Im doing too much. I had to text him to figure out where to return the stuff we rented ( which I did for him because he was busy ). I just think if a guy is REALLY into you then he would try and be with you right? Should I drop him, or see how things play out?
