Is my Great Dane losing control?

I don't know how old Gram's Dane was...maybe she was lucky to have her dog longer than 7 years...but that is one sad side to owning a Dane...their life expectancy is not much more than 7 years. I am lucky to have a dr in my vets office that makes house calls...maybe you can find someone in your area...Is she on any meds? Maybe she needs some pain med...it won't necessarily stop the progression but she will be more comfortable. Do you have access to a pool.. Dogs who swim are getting great exercise without any impact on their bones. Even an old dog can do that...or float with a handler....but that may not be an option for you. In answer to your question...this is a sign of aging...Please get a checkup and see where your dog is at. Wow, it is so hard to see them age....Good luck.
